A lot of you have been asking, “OK, I know which foods to avoid now, but what about the foods I should eat?” And so, due to insistent public demand, here is our big renal diet food list for CKD patients. Enjoy!
Meat / Protein Foods
Note: serving size = medium-sized fruit or ½ cup, fresh. If canned, make sure there is no added sugar.
Note: serving size = ½ cup, cooked, no added salt (especially for green leafy vegetables).
Bread, Cereals, and Grains
Dairy and Dairy Substitutes
Note: serving size = ½ cup or 1 ounce a day
Note: consult your physician and keep your fluid restriction in mind.

Note: for people with diabetes, please use with caution and with recommendations from your dietitian.

This list should NOT be taken as absolute and applicable for every CKD patient. Some people, especially those in the most advanced stages of CKD, might need to significantly limit or entirely avoid a few of the entries in this list.
